NOOK COWORKING STUDIO

- Brand Identity, Social Media-

NOOK is a CoWorking studio based in Manila, Philippines. NOOK prides in balancing out work with a culture of creative play. I had the opportunity to work alongside the owner of the Nook to create the brand identity, banners, and social media posts for the company.

CHALLENGE

This was my very first project involving a business . Not only was I making the logo and brand identity, but I helped brainstorm the overall aesthetic of the coworking studio. One of the main challenges I was faced with was ensuring that the logo and identity was able to represent the business as a whole. My client put all his trust in me to curate the logo so the pressure was definitely weighing down on me, but this was an opportunity to showcase my work. I was faced with Ideas that were constantly changing so I had to make sure to adapt to those changes and act on a timely manner.

LOGO and identity EXPLORATION

The definition of the word “nook” is “a corner or recess”. This was my inspiration for creating the logo and I wanted to have a sense of “homy” or “coziness” when it came to the overall space of the studio.

FINAL DEsign

At first my client wanted something playful, with eye catching colors. As my designs progressed we stemmed away from a colorful logo and and started to experiment with geometrical shapes to represent “corners”. The end result consisted of a rectangle with the words “NOOK” inside. By having the name of the business contained within the rectangle represents the feel of being in a corner which was my initial goal for this logo.

EXCHANGE ALLEY COFFEE house at the nook

Exchange Alley Coffee House also known as “Each” was a brand new speciality cafe within the area. To gain more exposure for both companies, NOOK and Each teamed up to host a pop up event at the NOOK. I was responsible for creating the collaboration poster for this event.
